Panel Updates

 NAME OF FACILITY: CBCF (Men & Women)

There are currently no meetings going on in the facility. Non-essential staff returned to work at the facility on June 24. Our contact for recovery services at the facility has told us that she will reach out to us with information about the facility’s plans for allowing visitors in again when they have more information to offer.

 NAME OF FACILITY: Correctional Reception Center (CRC – Men)

Recovery Services staff returned to the facility on June 24. There are no meetings being held until further notice. Virtual meeting participation is not an option at this time. We are in the process of reviewing speaker tapes to send to ODRC Facilities.

NAME OF FACILITY: Delaware County Jail (Men)

Literature and schedules are in the lobby for inmates to take with them when released. There are no meetings in the facility. Virtual meeting participation is not an option at this time. Larry K will check with staff at facility to see if they need more pamphlets and schedules for the lobby for inmates to take when released.

NAME OF FACILITY: Dublin Springs

Dublin Springs has a Zoom account. Our H&I panel members are doing a forty-minute Zoom meeting on Tuesdays at the regular time. The facility joined our Virtual H&I meeting on Saturdays in May. Dublin Springs had previously expressed interest in holding in person meetings again but will not be doing so for the time being. Dublin Springs is attending zoom on the 1^st, 3^rd, and 4^th Saturday of the month

NAME OF FACILITY: FCCCI (Men) and FCCCII (Men and Women)

The panel leaders for FCCC1 and FCCCII were contacted by Franklin County Sheriff’s office and asked to restart H&I meeting using Zoom format. We have agreed to start and the first meeting will be held on Monday, October 19^th for FCCCI and Wednesday, October 21^st for FCCCII. Both will be held at 7pm. The meetings will be a panel format. The facilities have stated that only those members who were previously approved are eligible to participate in the zoom meetings. Fred has asked that the chair try to contact the women in order to schedule a women’s meeting for FCCCII. Fred has also upgraded his zoom account to accommodate this commitment.

NAME OF FACILITY: Franklin Medical Center (FMC-Men)

Recovery Services staff returned to the facility on June 24. There are no meetings being held until further notice. Virtual meeting participation is not an option at this time. We are in the process of reviewing speaker tapes to send to ODRC Facilities.

NAME OF FACILITY: London Correctional Institution (LOCI – Men)

Recovery Services staff returned to the facility on June 24. There are no meetings being held until further notice. Virtual meeting participation is not an option at this time. We are in the process of reviewing speaker tapes to send to ODRC Facilities.

NAME OF FACILITY: Madison Correctional Institution (MaCI – Men)

Virtual meeting participation is not an option at this time. Recovery Services Supervisor Diane Justus reached out to the panel leader requesting literature and speaker tapes. There are small groups meeting with her staff but no 12 step meetings at this time. She hopes to have her staff facilitate small 12 step meetings in the near future. She will inventory text books, booklets and pamphlets to let us know what they have on hand and communicate their literature needs. Panel leader will follow up with her this month once we have inventoried our literature. Speaker tapes and CDs will also be provided.

NAME OF FACILITY: Maryhaven (Women)

The women have been attending our Wednesday and Saturday Virtual H&I meetings. The Wednesday meeting is Maryhaven Women’s Center houses only attending. Barcy C needs more women from our subcommittee to assist on Wednesday, and we also need at least one woman weekly on Saturdays. Literature was received last month and is being used for meetings.

NAME OF FACILITY: Ohio Reformatory for Women (ORW)

Recovery Services staff returned to the facility on June 24. There are no meetings being held until further notice. Virtual meeting participation is not an option at this time. We are in the process of reviewing speaker tapes to send to ODRC Facilities.

NAME OF FACILITY: Parkside

Matt has been in contact with the facility. Literature and Virtual Schedules were delivered to the facility. Will not be participating in our Virtual H&I meetings.

Recovery Services staff returned to the facility on June 24. There are no meetings being held until further notice. Virtual meeting participation is not an option at this time. We are in the process of reviewing speaker tapes to send to ODRC Facilities.

Matt has been in contact with the facility. Literature and Virtual Schedules were delivered to the facility. The facility is not participating in Virtual Meetings at this time.

We have regular weekly attendance from the three houses at MaryHaven Women’s Program, Columbus Springs Dublin and Columbus Springs East. Members who are interested in serving in the panel one or more Saturdays in the next month can contact Chuck M. at chuckm01012006@gmail.com.

Panels in Need of More Panel Members When We Are Able to Go Back In

Delaware County Jail (Women): Jenn M is helping to get women to apply and commit to get this commitment started again.

FCCCII – Workhouse (Women): Rona M needs women to commit to the 4^th and 5^th Saturdays of the month.

Madison Correctional Institution: Chuck M needs at least one more male to commit to the first Tuesday evening of the month. Brack G will be submitting an application.

Maryhaven Detox on South High St: New time, Friday at 6:00pm. Contact Brack G if interested in joining the panel.

MaryHaven Residential on Alum Creek: Brack G needs panel members for this commitment on Saturdays at 6:30pm.

Ohio Reformatory for Women (ORW): This commitment on Monday evenings is in need of women to commit to the 1^st, 4^th and 5^th Mondays of the month.

Recovery Village: Female panel members needed.

Columbus Springs East: New commitment, day and time not yet established. Contact Matt or Brad if interested.

Old Business

Literature Order Distribution: Discussed literature distribution and current inventory. Matt has literature that he can provide to Chuck, Fred, or Brack. Also, discussed 2021 H&I Fundraiser as planning will need to begin as we approach the new year. Discussed ideas and also members we can reach out to for input who have experience with production and virtual fundraising.

Update from Dublin Springs: Despite previously expressing interest in holding in person meetings, Dublin Springs will not be able to do so for the time being. They will be attending the 1^st, 3^rd, and 4^th Saturday on Zoom.

Prison H&I Meetings: We are still in contact but don’t have a current time frame for possible Zoom meetings with prisons. Speaker tapes have not yet been obtained for distribution to facilities.

Trusted Servant Nominations: No new nominations. Please continue to announce that the subcommittee needs more members and possible nominations.

 New Business

Jail Zoom Updates: Zoom meetings for the workhouse and downtown will begin on the 19^th at 7pm. The meetings will be held on Mondays and Wednesdays at 7pm.The facilities are only allowing those who were previously approved to attend the Zoom meetings. Terrance and Fred are working on contacting and scheduling members. The meetings will be a panel format. Literature may also be provided for inmates to use during meetings. Members currently attending are James G, Chuck M, and Fred P.

Columbus Springs East: Columbus Springs East is currently attending our Saturday Zoom meeting. We will hold H&I meetings there once were able to return to facilities. They have been added to the commitment list, and a panel will need to be established as soon as possible post Covid.
